The Ultimate WoW Guide has a class guide gives you the quickest way to level up your Paladin.

It is quite true that not many people want to associate themselves with the Paladin class when they are beginning their WoW journey. First of all, the Paladin is a hybrid which does not attract most people. Then there is the fact that there is not much to do in the early stages when you are a Paladin.

There is not must to learn and you simply keep on leveling up without many rewards. Also, the Paladin is not an expert at one particular thing when the character is first created. You have to think where you want their expertise to lie.

But then there are some advantages of being a Paladin also. It can be molded into playing various roles, which is a good thing. Also, the Paladin is the best at grinding.

If you want to make the most of your Paladin character, the following are some tips that might help you.

There are three build options for Paladins that you can choose from. These have different skills and purposes each, and you can select according to your requirements. These builds are Holy, Protection, and Retribution.
  • The Holy Build is great if you want to make your Paladin a healer

  • The Protection Build is apt for the tanking or AOE grinding

  • The Retribution Build is very good for increasing your level at an accelerated speed if you are beginning with a low level

Quite understandably, the best build to begin with is Retribution, because leveling is your primary intention when you are starting out. You will have to reach at least level 10 before you can have this build. When you do so, the talent tree becomes available to you. This is where you need to be judicious in speccing. Distribute your specs more in the Retribution area, but do leave some specs for Holy and Protection because you will also need these builds down the line.

There are various ways in which you can distribute your specs, but one of the best ways is as follows—Give 5 points for Spiritual Focus in the Holy Build, 5 points for Improved Devotion Aura in the Protection Build and 5 points each for Improved Blessing of Might, Improved Seal of Crusader and Seal of Command in the Retribution Build. This is a good distribution that allows you to have the best of all the three builds.

Paladins are hybrids. It is best to allow them to work in the manner that they are, i.e. hybrids. That is actually their best point because they can do a little of most things. Specialization is difficult to find here, but that can be worked on later. Remember that you will get certain quests to accomplish just because you are a hybrid Paladin. If you tamper with this basic characteristic of this class, accomplishing those tasks will become more difficult.

Speaking about the trade for the Paladin, the best one to choose is that of a blacksmith. Since Paladins are going to require a lot of weapons, learning this profession could very well come in handy. The second best profession is engineer, because then they become skilful in repairing weapons and tools.
