Mining is a very common profession in WoW, especially for players who wear a lot of armor. If you wear armor and don’t have mining as a profession, you will have to buy the ore from other miners and that will cost money. Hence, it is a good idea to select a profession that meets the requirements, which in this case is mining.

How to begin with the Mining Profession

The first thing you will need to do is to learn the mining skill. This you can learn from a number of trainers that are present within the world. There are two types of trainers – the Alliance Trainers and the Horde Trainers. You could learn the skill from any of them. Click Here to Level Mining to 450 Fast!

The following is a list of the Alliance trainers.

The trainer gives you an early training to become a miner. However, you can progress to a journeyman miner later on in the game. For this, you need to reach level 50. Once you do that, you can return to the trainer and learn to be a journeyman miner.

Once you select the trainer and learn the skill from them, you are ready to begin mining. For the actual mining process, you will need a tool. The tool is a mining pick. There are two ways to get a mining pick. You can get it from the place where the mining trainer is present, or you can get it from any place where equipments and tools are sold.

Since mining is a laborious profession, it is also a good idea to buy a pair of gloves. These could be got from an equipment store or you could get them from the Auction House.

Getting through with the Mining Profession

Gathering the ore is what you will do in the beginning. The ores are all of different level requirements, so you will be able to mine a few more ores as you progress with your levels. The simplest ore to mine is copper (you can do this at level 1 also) and the ore that requires the highest skill is titanium node (you need to be level 450 to mine this).

The next thing you can do is to smelt the ore. Once again, you need to have the required skill and level. Smelting means making an alloy. So you need at least two different types of metals to do it.

Remember that you can find the nodes at the fringes of hills, mountains and cliffs.
