Most players of WoW envy the hunters because of their high defense skills and ability to be an expert shot even from a far-off distance. The various perks of being a hunter are as follows (these are the incentives that must entice you to select this profession):

• You can track your enemies even from a very long distance. Especially if you are a dwarf hunter, you have a very good range of vision and can track very easily.
• Not just track, but you can also shoot at your enemies from a faraway distance. This helps in defense as well as offense.
• You become an expert with long range weapons. Hunters gather amazing skills when fighting with bows and arrows, crossbows or guns.
• You can train a pet. This is a great incentive because you can use the pet to do some of the tasks for you that you would not like to do yourself.

Hunters and Races
The skill of a hunter in WoW depends greatly on the race that the hunter belongs to. Now, you must not think that any race is better than the other when it comes to building a hunter. In fact, the way you go ahead with your own training curve is more important than the race you select. But the race will influence your skill as a hunter anyway. That is why you need to know these things.

There are five races that can have hunters. These are divided on the basis of whether you are in the Alliance or the Horde.

Alliance—If you are in the Alliance, then you need to belong to Dwarf or Night Elf race in order to become a hunter.

Horde—If you are in the Horde, then you need to belong to the Orc, Troll or Tauren race in order to become a hunter.

There are relative advantages and disadvantages of each race. If you are a Dwarf, you have the best benefits because they can track amazingly well and they can hit more strongly than other races. Dwarfs are great at offense as well as defense. But even if you are a Night Elf, you are good at defense. You get the best dodge points for a hunter within this race.

But being an Alliance Hunter is great because you can have a pet to call your own. There is one slight restriction though. You cannot own a pet till the time you reach the level 10. Once you are level 10, you can have a pet, and from there on, you can very easily move on up to level 80.

Among the Horde, Trolls are the best for dodging, though not as good as the Night Elf. Being a Tauren hunter might be the worst thing because you have Herbalism as a profession and that doesn’t help much when you are hunter.

Some Hunter Tips
It is a good idea to start hunting as early on as possible when you are in this profession. You can get animals to hunt practically everywhere in the world. Just start building your level as early as you can.

You will also get some more quests, like the Earthmother quests, when you are a hunter. All in all, this is a prize class to be.
